Etons of Bath were engaged to restore and redesign the interiors throughout this Georgian Rectory. We spearheaded the total renovation, which included remodelling of the house at second floor level to incorporate a Victorian servants wing within the main house.
Our client has classical taste but wanted the designs injected with modern comforts, ergonomic layouts and comfort for his family and guests. The property had had little investment in previous decades and many original elements had been replaced with cheaper, more modern alternatives.
The renovated interior features classical entrance and hallways enhanced with beautiful stone floors, statement lighting and classical joinery detailing and rooms throughout the house have a strong sense of style based on their orientation and use whilst retaining the original Georgian symmetry and architectural intent.
Our detailing included authentic period joinery such as the pair of magnificent bookcases in the library inspired by Sir John Soane’s house. We designed everything from fireplaces, lighting and furnishings to flooring and door and window furniture.
The results are a timeless, yet comfortable, family home combining practicality, classical style and modern living.
