Our clients appointed Etons of Bath to completely renovate their Georgian country house which had not been touched for 50 years and needed our expertise. The aim was to both restore its former glory as well as modernise aspects to ensure they were fit for purpose for more modern living.

Georgian Farmhouse Entrance Hall
The beautifuly proportioned entrance hall, with its original slate and english limestone flagstones was trasnformed from a dingy spacethat had been cluttered with seating and floor rugs and lit by one solitary lantern into an elegant, light space with classic detailing added in the marbling of the columns and the decoration of the cornicing.
Georgian Country House Drawing Room
With an original fresco ceiling we worked with the colours and details within it to develop a soft and inviting scheme that enabled the ceiling to become a focal point. The silk walls and soft creams combine to create a calm and relaxing environment where the view out to the lake can be enjoyed in all its glory. At the time of taking these photos we were still awaiting a handmade Turkish rug to arrive in a pale blue washed out design.
Georgian Country House Snug
Originally The Library, as a family home, my clients required a more relaxed living room that could be used by their children or as somewhere to hole up, relax by the fire and watch a film on a gloomy afternoon.
Georgian Country House Stairs and Landing
The magnificent staircase with barley twist spindles was lovingly restored and a bespoke runner was made with beautiful stair rods to add a decorative touch. The ceiling was cleaned up and painted and LED lighting was installed to pick out the relief and add contrast. The stairwell lanterns is hung at eye level on the first florr so that you can almost reach out and touch it. Along the main landing we sourced oversized pendants from America and had them re-wired for the UK in order to work with the scale of the property.
Georgian Country House Basement
Converting a damp, dark and rather empty space into a lobby that is warm and welcoming and has ample storage was the challenge in this part of the house.
Georgian Country House Bedrooms
Working with beautiful period detailing and mouldings we have created calm, yet classic bedrooms that set off the graceful Georgian architecture whilst meeting the needs of the family who use them.
Georgian Country House Bathrooms
En-suite bathrooms were created for each of the bedrooms, all of reasonable size. The decor was kept timeless with classically styled sanitaryware and brassware and bespoke joinery.
