This Grade 1 listed Georgian townhouse in central Bath has been re-designed throughout by Etons of Bath. The main aim was to enhance the beautiful windows and fireplaces, the cornicing, the original hallway floors and delicate Georgian staircase.
We used a strong contrasting colour of Farrow and Ball’s Hague Blue in his and hers study and the drawing and withdrawing room, adding colour in artwork or detail in wallpaper to create interest.
A salvaged Georgian floor was installed in the drawing room to re-instate an authentic finish (whilst complying with listed consent) together with new fireplaces.
Bathrooms and kitchens have been designed with a Classic Contemporary feel and the master bedroom is a serene space with full height curtains and pelmets that accentuate the ceiling height.
In the self-contained flat within the property, we turned the colour palette on its head with clean white walls to enhance the light at this lower ground floor level. Our photoshoot was taken at Christmas time so there are some lovely examples of how to dress your home for Christmas too!
If you own a listed Georgian building, do get in touch on 01225 639002 and we’d be happy to help realise your dreams in keeping with the spaces and history of the building itself.
